What is UPSC Exam ?
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts civil service examinations in India to recruit candidates for various administrative positions in the government. The examination process comprises three stages: the Preliminary Examination, the Main Examination, and the Interview/Personality Test.
UPSC Preliminary Examination Syllabus:

Paper I - General Studies:
- This part includes things happening in the world right now, both in India and globally.
- It covers the history of India and the freedom movement.
- Geography talks about the physical and social aspects of India and the world.
- Indian Polity and Governance cover how our country is run, including the constitution, political system, and policies.
- Economic and Social Development looks at things like sustainable development, poverty, demographics, and social programs.
- Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity, and Climate Change discuss general environmental issues.
- General Science deals with basic scientific concepts.

Paper II - CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test):
- This section checks how well you understand what you read.
- It also looks at your communication skills, logical thinking, problem-solving, and basic numerical abilities.
UPSC Main Examination Syllabus:
The Main Examination has nine papers, including an essay paper and two language papers.

Essay Paper:
- You need to write two essays, picking one topic from each section.

- Paper I: Talks about India's culture, history, and global geography.
- Paper II: Covers how our government works, the constitution, social justice, and international relations.
- Paper III: Discusses technology, economic development, biodiversity, the environment, security, and disaster management.
- Paper IV: Explores ethics, integrity, and aptitude.

- You get to choose one subject from a list provided by UPSC.

Qualifying Papers:
- Paper A: Involves an Indian language of your choice.
- Paper B: Focuses on English.
UPSC Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the UPSC Civil Services Examination, candidates must:
- Be a citizen of India.
- Have attained the age of 21 years and must not have exceeded 32 years as of August 1 of the exam year (relaxations apply for certain categories).
- Hold a degree from any recognized university or possess an equivalent qualification.
UPSC Interview/Personality Test:
After passing the Main Examination, there's an interview to see if you're a good fit for a career in public service.
